Troop 13 provides scouting activities to young boys in the Oxford, PA area. Through those activities we strive to teach boys the principles of scouting through respect for the individual and to develop and use their potential to the best of their ability. With more than 130 Merit Badges -- from Archery and Art to Welding and Wilderness Survival -- Scouting is the ultimate form of learning by doing. Boy Scouts explore their interests and improve their skills while working toward Scouting’s highest rank: Eagle. By first imagining, planning then doing their own service projects, Boy Scouts learn the value of hard work, and experience the thrill of seeing it pay off. Add in outdoor adventures, hiking, camping, canoeing and Scouting gives boys all the experience they need to become men.
We go on monthly camping adventures where our scouts participate in activities like swimming, climbing walls, archery and wilderness survival. The scouts cook their own meals over camp fires and camp stoves, sing songs and play games. They study the natural world and the wildlife that lives in it while respecting the environment and leaving no trace when we go home. All of this we do in the spirit of scouting.
On my honor, I will do my best. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
As an American, I will do my best to -
Be clean in my outdoor manners.
Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.
Be conservation minded.
