Soaked to the Bone Camp Out!!!!

A group of our brave and hardy Scouts participated in our Fall Camp Out despite poor weather conditions.  Eight families set up Friday night and had a good evening as the Scouts played various games using flashlights and headlamps.  After the Pack bedded down for the night the rain came down.  All seemed to stay pretty dry, and woke up to light drizzle.  However, soon thereafter the rain started to come down in earnest.  Suffice it to say that we were all pretty much SOAKED TO THE BONE!!!  Even so, we did manage to build a Survival Shelter out of sticks and other debris.  I believe it was as dry as any other place you could have found that afternoon.  In addition to shelter building, several Scouts worked on knot tying and pitching a tent.  Other Scouts went on about a 2 mile hike around the lake shore once the weather started to lighten up.  The Bear Den prepared an excellent Taco in a Bowl dinner that everyone enjoyed and a big shout out to the Bailey's who coordinated dinner and several activities during the day.

All in all, the Scouts that were there seemed to have a good time learning and playing in spite of the awful weather.  When you see a Scout that was at this camp out, know that although they were Soaked to the Bone, they proved that they were Too Tough for Hurricane Weather!!!!
