Our Pack

We are Cub Scout Pack 78 in Vienna, VA. We are chartered by the Vienna Rotary Club and we serve the students of Louise Archer Elementary School, as well as other surrounding schools. First through fifth grade boys are welcome to join our Pack anytime!

Through those activities we strive to teach boys the principles of scouting through respect for the individual and to develop and use their potential to the best of their ability. Our boys like things that go fast! So we offer opportunities like building and racing model cars in the Pinewood Derby, building our bicycle skills while riding in rallies and flying model spaceships in the Space Derby. Our Cub Scouts are fierce competitors, but also excellent sportsmen.

We go hiking and camping in the spring, summer and fall. We participate in activities like swimming, climbing walls, archery and BB guns. We toast marshmallows and make smores over a campfire, sing songs and play silly games. We study the natural world and the wildlife that lives in it while respecting the environment and leaving no trace when we go home. All of this we do in the spirit of scouting.

Our promise

We have fun while learning and building character in every boy who passes through Pack 78. Our adult leaders instill good values in the boys while ensuring each boy is meeting challenges, doing things they like to do and developing strong friendships throughout the year. We encourage boys to recognize their duty to God and encourage each and their adult leaders to be faithful in their religious duties. Our cub scouts learn duty to God, country, others and self.

Pack 78 In the Community

JDRDC Full Court - April 2017

THE FAIRFAX COMMUNITY SUPPORTS CSU SERVICES

Submitted by Aaron A. Woodward IV, Supervised Visitation Counselor, Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange and Lori Wymore-Kirkland, Assistant Director, Foundations

The Fairfax County Supervised Visitation and Supervised Exchange Center is always very grateful for community donations. Many of the toys and supplies available for use during the visits come from community donations. In March, Cub Scout Pack 78 of Vienna graciously collected over 50 craft and Lego kits.  These kits donated to the program will be used for activities to help build relationships between parents and their children during visitation. The Pack did this as a service project. The Visitation Center is so grateful to Pack 78 for the support they have provided! These donations will make quite a difference in the lives of families served by the program. If you know a community group looking to give back to the community, keep the Visitation Center in mind.
