Springtime is the best time for Cub Scouts to transition to Scouts BSA through crossover ceremonies, which can take any shape or form that signifies the transition. The Arrow of Light program helps prepare fifth-grade Cub Scouts for Scouts BSA by teaching them some of the methods and practices of a Scouts BSA troop. Den leaders can help by making contact with Scouts BSA troops to set up visits and camping opportunities, and any troop is likely to welcome the opportunity. Den leaders are responsible for helping Cub Scouts make a smooth and enjoyable transition to Scouts BSA.
While sending our Webelos Cub Scouts off to Scouts BSA is bittersweet, most of us want to celebrate this milestone in their Scouting careers. Many packs do this by holding special Cub Scout Crossover Ceremonies.
Crossover ceremonies are a way for the pack to say goodbye and for the troop to welcome them. Just like the Arrow of Light ceremonies, you can find a plethora of crossover ceremonies online.
For most its been a long trail from Tiger to Webelos. They've worked hard and for most this will be the first ceremony like this in their lives. Whatever you decide to do make it a special memory for them to cherish.
