Home > Our Troop's Venture Patrol: A High-Adventure Outing
Join us as we venture out on an unforgettable adventure with our troop's elite scouts!
Our troop has a special tradition to reward our scouts who are on the Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) with an extra outing every six months. This is called the Venture Patrol, and it's a fantastic way to motivate our scouts to take on leadership roles and advance in their scouting journey.
As part of the PLC, these scouts are already demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, so we give them the freedom to plan and execute their own high-adventure outing. The Senior Patrol Leader gets to decide what kind of adventure they'll embark on, which keeps things fresh and exciting.
This outing is a game-changer for our troop. Not only do the scouts love going out on any type of adventure, but it also creates more interest in leadership opportunities and advancement. These outings are often only open to more experienced scouts, which means they get to experience even greater freedoms. And let's not forget – these outings are considered "high-adventure," so you can bet that our Venture Patrol scouts were thrilled to be a part of it!
One of the best parts about this outing is that the scouts are fully responsible for all their own gear, including their sleep system, cook system, food, and personal gear. This means they have to put more time and effort into planning on their own part to ensure they have a seamless adventure – it's an incredible learning experience.
Every Venture Patrol outing is different. Our scouts spend the day exploring, setting up camp, and enjoying each other's company around the campfire. They are always unforgettable adventures that left everyone feeling proud of what they accomplished.
We're already looking forward to our next Venture Patrol outing – and we can't wait to see what kind of high-adventure our scouts will come up with next!
